While we began and continually developed offerings related to higher education or scholarly publishing, we have also followed opportunities to offer titles related to Oklahoma and states surrounding it. Titles in the following categories are being offered to the reading public as an avenue to discovering, evaluating, and perhaps influencing the growing body of literature about and originating from Oklahoma and surrounding states. Well, first let’s list some individuals born in Oklahoma: Sam Walton, James Garner, Dr. Phil, Reba McEntire, Chuck Norris, Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Wanda Jackson, Brad Pitt, Mickey Mantle, Pretty Boy Floyd, Garth Brooks, Jim Thorpe, Lon Chaney, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Will Rogers, Paul Harvey, Woody Guthrie … and so on and on. Then, when we add personalities from surrounding states, we see an ever richer plethora of biographical material. Not all worthwhile subjects are as readily recognizable, of course, so we are wide open to exploring the lives of that special breed of characters found in Oklahoma and surrounding states.
