Regional/Oklahoma

While we began and continually developed offerings related to higher education or scholarly publishing, we have also followed opportunities to offer titles related to Oklahoma and states surrounding it. Titles in the following categories are being offered to the reading public as an avenue to discovering, evaluating, and perhaps influencing the growing body of literature about and originating from Oklahoma and surrounding states. Authors, as well as readers, are encouraged to participate. Contact us with your suggestions. We hope this will be a real land run! OKpersPersonalities / Why explore the nature of Oklahoma people? Well, first let’s list some individuals born in Oklahoma: Sam Walton, James Garner, Dr. Phil, Reba McEntire, Chuck Norris, Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Wanda Jackson, Brad Pitt, Mickey Mantle, Pretty Boy Floyd, Garth Brooks, Jim Thorpe, Lon Chaney, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Will Rogers, Paul Harvey, Woody Guthrie … and so on and on. Then, when we add personalities from surrounding states, we see an ever richer plethora of biographical material. Not all worthwhile subjects are as readily recognizable, of course, so we are wide open to exploring the lives of that special breed of characters found in Oklahoma and surrounding states. OKroutes2Places & Routes / The modern state of Oklahoma is home to some of the most scenic country and unique historic sites in the South. Rich in both Native American and “Old West” history, the state is an outstanding destination and study. The titles in this category provide you with insights into some of the unique historic sites and  natural wonders of Oklahoma. From places  associated with the Trail of Tears to Civil War battlefields and even alleged Viking carvings,  Oklahoma offers a myriad of attractions of  interest to those with a love of history and  scenery. OKlawLawmen & Outlaws / Oklahoma is a state rich in lawmen and outlaw history, truly the last bastion of the “Old West.” The state has a tradition of banditry dating back to the time of the Indian Territory. The titles included in this series present a collection of rare photographs, biographical sketches, and true stories dealing with the epic battle between the forces of law and order and wrongdoers taking place in a geographic area encompassing the modern-day Oklahoma and its neighboring states. OKchildFor Children /  By immersing children in an integrated world of literary experiences that teaches them, firsthand, the impact of reading on every aspect of life, imagination is ignited and confidence is built for a prosperous future, regardless of race, economic status, or personal capabilities. Stories of the people, places and historical events of Oklahoma and surrounding states provide a unique insight into the human experience and what brought us to life as we know it today.
